OUR VISION

The Good Samaritan Society was founded by the noted philanthropist M R Chandran way back in 1969. The Society was formed with the objective of uplifting the less privileged and disadvantaged people in the community. Mr MR Chandran was ably assisted by his young school going son R Ravichandran. The Society, apart from its noble and charitable activities was also involved in spiritual faith activities. Free Bibles were printed and distributed to poor Christians in the surrounding communities.

Good Samaritan Trust is a registered trust pioneered by its Founder Late Mr. M.R. Chandran, and registered as a non-profit social service organization under the Indian Trust Act. Spanning over a period of over 26 years, Good Samaritan Trust has proved to be a mighty weapon in the hands of the Lord, feeding the hunger and needy both spiritually and physically. The Deed of Trust was executed on the 1st day of April 1986 by M.R.Chandran, thereby creating a charitable Trust called “GOOD SAMARITAN TRUST” having its registered office in Trichy.

Right from its inception, this society has been promoting social components especially in the specific thematic areas of rural higher education, youth and women empowerment projects, livelihood promotion, health, sexual and reproductive health, environment, sanitation and hygiene among the grassroots people living in the TRICHIRAPPALLI District in Tamil Nadu, India.
